CONTEST IS OVER! CONGRATS TO LYDIA, COMMENT #274!!!

xtrema

My family and I try to eat healthy. I like to cook great tasting meals that I know my family will love and that I know is good for their bodies. When I came across Xtrema Healthy Cookware, I was very interested and really wanted to know more about it. I contacted the company and they agreed to let me review for them and find out what they are all about! I was so excited :) I received a 10" open Skillet and a 3 Pc 20 Oz Retro Tea Set. I was so excited to try them out.

The next morning I fried up some scrambled eggs with veggies and brewed myself some tea. I was very impressed with the way this skillet cooked my food. Very quickly and evenly. I thought, that the handle of the skillet would get hot, but to my pleasant surprised it stayed cool during cooking! The skillet itself is a ceramic pan that is quality made. It is strong and I love how easy it was to clean off all the caked on cheesy scrambled eggs. Usually the skillet I use to cook eggs, is very hard to clean up, but this came right off with no effort at all! Oh that made me HAPPY! The teapot made my tea just perfect and is a great size for our family. I am very happy with these products. They are great high temperature, non scratch, ceramic cookware and it is my new best friend! To watch some great videos about Xtrema Ceramic Cookware, go HERE!

I'd love to try this kind of cookware because I love non-stick for convenience, but I'm worried about toxic chemicals and trace minerals being transferred to my food.

I learned that the cooking surface contains no harmful PTFE coating and produces no harmful PFOA gas. Another reason Xtrema is considered "green" is because their kilns use clean burning and safe natural gas.

I could use a product like Xtrema, because the frying pan I have now is sort of pathetic. lol I have one (yes one) sad, old fry pan that I received as a Christmas present one year. The coating is starting to wear off (which probably isn't great, considering I'm not sure what the coating is made from.) I have lot of decent pots, just no pans. This pan is awesome because I know it's safe to cook with and I adore that it's non-scratch. :-)

I'd like to try because of the nonstick surface

19. Debbie Jackson   |   Sun Jan 24, 2010 @ 12:48PM

I learned it actually adds flavor to food rather than dissipates it away

20. Marci   |   Sun Jan 24, 2010 @ 01:13PM

Non-Scratch Surface can be cleaned with abrasive cleaners if needed and they won't scratch it....COOL!

21. eva   |   Sun Jan 24, 2010 @ 01:57PM

To me , this is a no brainer, healthy, nontoxic, convenient, easy to clean, durable and lasting a lifetime, what is NOT to like! I`d love to have the whole set, eventually, now i do own the skillet and the 16 oz pot.
With this cook ware i do not have to worry about my families health, specially having 2 young children.

I learned
Our patented ceramic product is 100% green and environmentally safe and non-toxic. Our product is made of earth’s natural minerals and water. Our product is handcrafted by highly skilled artisans and we use clean burning natural gas fired kilns to fire our products. Our packaging has changed this year from 90 Styrofoam and 10% cardboard to 90% cardboard and 10% Styrofoam. This means that 90% of our packaging can now be recycled.

I stir-fry a couple nights a week and tired of pans/skillets that have stuff that can flake into food. I like that these are 'green' and not a health hazard.
